What is pairing in the first place?
What is the "pairing" that we often hear about with wine?
simply put[Choose dishes and drinks that go well together and enjoy the flavors of both.I will say the following.
This is true not only for wine and sake, but also for craft beer.
By choosing dishes that go well with unique craft beers, you can accentuate each other's deliciousness.
It is quite profound when you think about it.《Beer pairing》We would like to introduce you to the following
How are pairings selected?
If you are thinking, "Pairing seems difficult," don't worry!
It is surprisingly easy if you keep the three pairing points in mind, and once you get used to it, you can enjoy "beer pairing" more and more to your own taste.
Matching colors
Craft beers vary in color from whitish to yellow, brown to black, and can be broadly categorized in taste.
The lighter the color, the "crisp and refreshing" the wine tends to be, while the darker the color, the "rich and thick" the wine tends to be.
So if you are unsure about pairing, we recommend that you first [match the color of the beer and the food].
White Beer & Fresh Fish Carpaccio of the Day
Match by country
This means [matching the food with beer from the same country of origin].
The idea is simple: beer and food from the same country would go well together.
At Malt, we only sell "domestic craft beers", but you can think of it as matching the type of beer to the country where it originated!
Example: Steamed golden ale, mussels and asari with white wine, originally from Belgium
Match the same or different tastes.
There are ways to pair a rich, full-bodied beer with a rich sweet (same flavor), or a light, easy-drinking beer with a fatty dish such as fries (different flavor).
Example: [Same Taste] HOP MAX IPA with spicy chorizo sausage
[Different Tastes] Belgian Tunnel (Belgian Wit) x Inca Awakening Potato Fries (Salted)
